Cinsault, un cépage provençal par excellence

Cinsault at Vallons de Fontfresque

Cinsault grape is a historic type of the region of Provence. Very productive and tasty, it has long been eaten as table grapes.

In our domain, we limit productivity voluntarily by pruning short during the winter and harvesting green. It is an important variety in our AOC wines appellation (Coteaux Varois en Provence red and rosé). A new plot was planted in 2008 to gradually replace our oldest vines.

At the time of harvest, each bunch of grapes is carefully selected. The Cinsault goes particularly well with our Grenache Vieilles Vignes mellowing its powerful aromas.
